Sue Langwill — Made of Earth Ceramics

Sue Langwill is a Melbourne-based ceramic artist with more than 20 years’ experience working with clay and the visual arts.

Her handbuilt ceramics are inspired by the colours, textures and shapes found in nature — from bark and stone to flowers, branches and changing landscapes. Sue loves creating organic forms with layered slips, glazes, oxides and brushwork, giving each piece its own character.

With a background in floristry, visual merchandising and art education, Sue has a particular love of the relationship between ceramics, flowers and interiors.

She works from her Melbourne studio, creating one-off vessels as well as smaller collections designed to bring a little of the natural world indoors.
